GROUNDS MAINTENANCE PERSON

Salary: UTC 4 Scale 5-7 (£19,650 – £20,444) (£10.21 per hour)

Uckfield Town Council is an ambitious organisation with a wide ranging portfolio of buildings and open spaces.

The Town Council owns a number of sports pitches, recreation grounds, allotment sites, ancient woodlands, nature reserves, play areas, multi-use games areas and a cemetery.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Town Council, for us to advertise for a grounds person. You will be required to help maintain and ensure our grounds are kept in a good state of repair, remain well presented and are ready for sports clubs and members of the public to safely use.

Demonstrable experience in the maintenance of sports pitches, and recreation grounds is desired, with experience of using the appropriate machinery especially for mowing.

A full clean UK Driving Licence is essential as you will be required to drive Town Council owned grounds vehicles and equipment. The role will be predominantly Monday to Friday, including some short weekend work on a one in four rota basis.

We are welcoming applications from those who can demonstrate excellent customer service, be self-motivated but also a good team player to work as part of an important team. You will pay close attention to detail and have a can-do attitude.
