His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of EdinburghHRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

Message from Councillor Spike Mayhew, Mayor of Uckfield Town Council:

It is with profound sadness that the Councillors and Officers of Uckfield Town Council learnt today of the death of His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
For people wishing to send their condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the royal family, an online book of condolence will be available on the Buckingham Palace website https://www.royal.uk/ in the coming days.

Book of Condolence

In addition, we hope to provide a book of condolence in Uckfield Civic Centre, located just off Civic Approach, Uckfield, TN22 1AE from Monday 12 April 2021 for people unable to add their condolences online. It will be available between 10.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Please note that the main front doors to the building are not currently accessible due to building works. Access is via the glass fire doors on the western side of the building by Tesco.

Flowers

The laying of flowers is not advised under the current Covid restrictions, and there is no expectation but if members of the public do wish to make a donation, the Duke of Cambridge has recently launched an appeal asking those who can, to donate money to the National Emergencies Trust so that the Trust can help local charities, distribute money and support victims in combatting the impact of the covid pandemic. Further information is available at www.nationalemergenciestrust.org.uk
Please visit The Buckingham Palace website to find further details about the funeral and what is happening at a national level.
Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time.
