Weald on the Field Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Biggest Edition Yet
Uckfield Town Council is celebrating the success of Weald on the Field 2026 after the festival’s 10th-anniversary edition brought thousands of people together for a day of music, food, activities and community spirit.
The free community festival, held on Saturday 8 August, was a fitting celebration of a decade of Weald on the Field, with a packed programme and fantastic atmosphere enjoyed by audiences.
Live music performances came from The Tannens, Pentacle Drummers, The Kytes, Dominic Uppiah, VENN5, The Midnight Project and headliners The Kavemen.
A diverse array of food and drink was available across Luxford Field, while there were plenty of craft, produce and charity stalls offering activities and engagement.
Furthermore, an appearance from the Big One Hundred’s charismatic purple creature, Poppet, entertained children at the top of the field.
Early estimates suggest this edition’s attendance was one of the best in the event’s history, with a beautiful sunny day in Uckfield certainly helping.
Uckfield Town Council’s Town Clerk, Holly Goring, said: “What a day it was on Luxford Field! Thank you to everyone involved in making our annual Weald on the Field event such a success.
“With a fantastic line-up of talented musicians performing on the grass and the Airstream Stage, there was something to entertain all the family from start to finish.
“The event was first created to showcase local businesses, and we’re very proud to say that it’s now doing that on a larger scale than ever.
“Weald on the Field provides a tangible example of bringing together a wide array of Sussex-based businesses in one place.
“This starts with the suppliers who assist us with the facilities needed for the event, and help us to keep the public safe. It continues with our sponsors, who contribute to a great line-up of entertainment.
“Then, we boast an impressive collection of stallholders who demonstrate craftsmanship with their local produce, arts, crafts, food and drink.
“As ever, it is a real example of teamwork, with support from volunteers, councillors, staff, local businesses and local suppliers, as well as the wider community who bring such a great atmosphere. Thank you to everyone involved!”
The Council would like to thank all of the event’s sponsors and partners for their continued support, helping make it possible to deliver a large-scale, free community event for residents and visitors.
In 2026, the valued sponsors of the event were Uckfield Chamber of Commerce, Lawson Commercial, Eastbourne Motoring Centre (EMC), Pots of Love, Downlands Architectural Design & Surveying, Uckfield Logistics Training Services, Lawson Queay Chartered Surveyors, Dropped Pin Residential Sales, Jimmy the Painter, CPJ Field, Phoenix Health Hub and Lydfords Care Home.
Planning for the future of Weald on the Field is already underway, with the Council committed to exploring how the festival shapes up in 2027 and beyond.
