Uckfield High Street Post Office Update – 18.08.2026
Uckfield Town Council has been notified that Uckfield High Street Post Office is due to close on Tuesday 8 September 2026 as part of a restructuring by its retail partner, TG Jones.
The Post Office has confirmed that it recognises the importance of providing a Post Office service to the local community and is seeking a new retail partner to operate a branch in Uckfield. The vacancy is currently being advertised, and the Post Office has invited applications from potential retail partners interested in operating a local branch.
The Town Council is reminding all relevant stakeholders of the imperative need to retain accessible Post Office services in a central Uckfield location and will continue to communicate the views of residents to the Post Office.
We will also continue to monitor developments regarding future provision. The Post Office has advised that it will provide further information to local representatives once there is an update on its plans.
New retail partners welcome
The Post Office is seeking new retail partners to work with in Uckfield that can host their services.
