Allotment Competition 2026

Uckfield Town Council is delighted to announce the return of the Uckfield Allotment Competition, sponsored by Staverton’s Nursery, for 2026.

After a year of change in 2025, with new categories added, we have retained the same categories for this year.

Judging will take place during the third week of July, and winners will be notified shortly after judging.

Prizes will be awarded at the Allotment Conference on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

What categories are included this year?

We have followed the precedent set by the 2025 Allotment Competition with this year’s categories, which are the following:

  • Children’s Award
  • Ecological Award
  • Most Improvement Allotment
  • Best Newcomer
  • Best Kept Allotment
  • Overall Winner (Chosen from the Best Kept Allotment winners from each site)

How does entry work?

All active allotment holders are automatically entered into the following categories:

  • Ecological Award
  • Most Improved Allotment
  • Best Newcomer
  • Best Kept Allotment
  • Overall Winner

Meanwhile, entries to the Children’s Award must be made by nomination.

The nomination form for the Children’s Award is available here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/59NCZ3F

When will judging take place?

Judging will be carried out by Uckfield Town Council and Staverton’s Nursery staff on Thursday 16 July 2026.

This will cover all Uckfield Town Council allotment sites.

When will the results be announced?

Winners will be contacted in advance of the Allotment Conference to ensure they are able to attend and collect their prizes.

The Allotment Conference will take place on Wednesday 9 September, at 7:30pm, in the Weald Hall at the Civic Centre Uckfield.
