Town Council buildings to close during lockdown

The Civic Centre Uckfield and Luxfords Restaurant along with Foresters Hall will be closing from Thursday 5 November to Wednesday 2 December in line with Government guidelines for the second lockdown.

The booking office and Town Council office will be manned throughout during office hours. Office staff will attend on a rota basis to protect them during this time.

Christmas Lunches and Festive Afternoon Teas

Luxfords Restaurant will still be taking bookings for Christmas Lunches from 3-22 December. It is also possible for local businesses to book takeaway Christmas lunches to be delivered to enjoy in the office.

The Festive Afternoon Teas take place in the restaurant on Thursday 10 and 17 December with ‘Rosie sings Christmas Swing’ to entertain everyone.

Full details of the Christmas lunches and Festive teas are available on the website at https://www.civiccentreuckfield.com/whats-on/

Outside spaces
UK Government guidance advises that:
In general, you must not meet people socially. However, you can exercise or meet in a public, outdoors space with people you live with, your support bubble (or as part of a childcare bubble), or with one other person.

You can exercise or visit outdoor public places with:

  • the people you live with
  • your support bubble
  • or, when on your own, 1 person from another household. Children under 5, as well as disabled people dependent on round-the-clock care are not counted towards the limit on two people meeting outside

Outdoor public places include:

  • neighbourhood streets, parks, beaches, and the countryside;
  • public gardens and grounds (whether or not you pay to enter them);
  • allotments;
  • outdoor playgrounds;
