Uckfield High Street SGN Works

On Thursday 11 June 2026, Scotia Gas Networks (SGN) began unplanned gas repair works on Uckfield High Street.

The area concerned is at the junction of Bell Lane and High Street, outside 92 High Street, and affects the southbound side of the road, heading towards New Town.

As these works were unplanned, Uckfield Town Council was not informed in advance about them.

SGN, like most major utilities companies, use the One.Network website to display details of road closures caused by their works.

On the One.Network website, details show that the SGN works on the High Street will cause delays between 11 June and 11:59pm on Thursday 18 June.

Temporary traffic lights are in place for pedestrians at the three crossings around the Bell Lane-High Street junction, while temporary traffic lights and road signs are in place to direct road users around the area affected by the works. While High Street remains open, delays are likely for road users due to the nature of the road signs in place.

The One.Network website is available for members of the public to view here: https://one.network/
