Earlier this week we advised that Uckfield Town Council had taken the decision to close the Civic Centre and Luxfords Restaurant on Saturdays and Sundays from this coming weekend.

In response to the most recent advice from the UK Government and Public Health England, we have now taken the difficult decision to close Luxfords Restaurant from today (Friday 20 March) until further notice.

The Civic Centre in Uckfield, home to Uckfield Town Council, will be closed this weekend and then close its doors fully to the public from Tuesday 24th March.

The Town Council will still run despite the closure of the Civic Centre building but operate differently, with reduced opening hours between 10.00am and 2.00pm Tuesday to Thursday each week. Residents and other members of the public should continue to contact us via email at admin@uckfieldtc.gov.uk or by telephone 01825 762774 rather than in person.

We would like to reassure you that emails and telephone calls will continue to be picked up throughout the week (Monday to Friday), but with reduced staffing levels, we felt it necessary to restrict our official opening hours. And don’t forget, if you have an urgent matter that needs addressing, you can also contact your local Town Councillor. Their contact details are available on the Town Council website – https://www.uckfieldtc.gov.uk/your-council/local-councillors/

These are difficult times where advice is changing daily and we will keep you updated on any future changes with press releases, via our website – https://www.uckfieldtc.gov.uk/news/, – on our social media pages – https://www.facebook.com/uckfieldtowncouncil/ and https://twitter.com/UckfieldTC and with notices on the front door of  the Civic Centre.

We thank you for your patience.
