Consultation on our draft priorities for 2026-27

Members of Full Council considered early drafts of the Town Council’s Strategic Plan 2026-2031 and Annual Plan 2026-27 at their meeting on 1 December 2025, alongside a first draft of the annual budget for 2026-27 and annual review of our Property Asset Management Plan (2026-2031).

The final drafts of these documents will be presented to Full Council on Monday 12 January 2026 for adoption for the new financial year (1 April 2026 – 31 March 2027).

Between now and then, we are keen to receive your feedback. So take a look and let us know what you like and what you think is missing from our priorities for the town over the longer term (Draft Strategic Plan), and what the Town Council intends to focus on in 2026-27 (Draft Annual Plan).

Residents’ Survey – Winter 2024

Uckfield Town Council is one of three local authorities delivering services in your local area.

We created a survey back in October/November to find out more about what you as a local resident think about where you live. We were keen to understand:

  • What you like;
  • What needed improving;
  • What you considered to be a priority for you and your family, and;
  • How often you used Town Council services

The survey was created on Google Forms, and has now closed. The highlights from the survey were as follows:
Highlights from Residents’ Survey 2024

Thank you to everyone who took part, we really appreciate your time and input!
The feedback received will not only inform our priority setting for 2025, but also inform our conversations with key stakeholders such as the District Council, County Council, partner agencies and developers. It will assist us with our longer term planning and help us understand what you consider important for the town in the future.

Wealden Draft Local Plan Consultation 2025 – 2040

In February 2024, Wealden District Council announced the publication of its Draft Local Plan.

This superseded the Draft Local Plan that was drawn up in 2019 and subsequently withdrawn in 2020. The new plan intends to offer a plan for how the district will develop between 2025 and 2040.

Between 15 March 2024 and 10 May 2024, Wealden DC ran an eight-week consultation period which would allow for all district residents to have their say on the Regulation 18 Draft Local Plan.

Uckfield Town Council prepared a detailed response to the questions asked within the plan. A copy of the responses are detailed below:
