This is an exciting time to take on the role of Estates Manager here at Uckfield Town Council. The Town Council owns a large asset portfolio, and has day to day responsibility for the maintenance of a cemetery, a closed churchyard, allotment sites, recreation grounds (including sports pitches) and play areas. We also oversee the preservation of two local nature reserves, four woodlands and smaller open spaces, and wetland areas.

This role will be responsible for leading the Grounds team through the day to day maintenance and conservation of these green spaces, with two direct reports (Head Groundsman and Ranger). The role will also give guidance to the Senior Administrative Officer in their role in administering the allotments, cemetery and environmental projects.

This role will act as the lead for grounds related contracts management and be responsible for the periodic review of Grounds vehicles and equipment.
