On Saturday, 13 April 2024, Uckfield Town Council hosts an in-person consultation event for residents to have their say on Wealden District Council’s Draft Local Plan.

We encourage all residents to come along and take part in the event, which takes place at the Civic Centre Uckfield between 10am to 4pm this Saturday.

There will be the chance to assess the Plan documents, see how the proposals affect Uckfield and the rest of the district, and offer thoughts on the Plan during the event.

What is the Draft Local Plan consultation about?

On 26 February 2024, Wealden District Council confirmed that it had agreed a Draft Local Plan Regulation 18 document alongside a supporting Sustainability Appraisal.

The Draft Local Plan proposes all of Wealden District Council’s ideas for the development of communities within the district over the next couple of decades, so consultation is key to feeding the views of residents into how Uckfield, and other areas, will change in terms of housing and building developments.

To coincide with the Draft Local Plan, Wealden District Council launched an eight-week public consultation period for the public to have their say.

This consultation is currently underway, and takes place from 5pm, Friday 15 March to 5pm, Friday 10 May 2024. It is both in-person and online.

How can I get involved?

An in-person event will be held at Uckfield Town Council’s facilities at the Civic Centre Uckfield on Saturday, 13 April between 10am and 4pm.
