Uckfield Town Mayor – Ashdown Radio Interview

Following her re-election as Uckfield Town Mayor at the Town Council’s Annual Statutory Meeting, Councillor Karen Bedwell was invited to an interview with Ashdown Radio on Friday 22 May 2026.

Cllr. Bedwell met presenter Kirstie Gladman to discuss the achievements of two years in the role of Town Mayor, and her aims for the final year of a maximum three-year term in 2026-27.

Topics of discussion included regular civic events, such as Weald on the Field – which returns for its 10th anniversary edition on August 8th – and the Town Council’s buildings and assets portfolio, highlighting the scale of work undertaken in the town.

Cllr. Bedwell confirmed the appointments that had been made to the Chair and Vice-Chair roles of each Town Council committee, and confirmed her plans for charity fundraising in the year ahead.

She has committed to supporting two charities – EGFR Positive UK and Phab – with fundraising efforts to take place throughout the year.
