Staffing
Uckfield Town Council employs in the region of 30 permanent members of staff (31 as of June 2026) plus casuals across four service areas to carry out the day to day functions of the organisation, and manage our built and green assets to ensure they remain safe, compliant, well maintained and clean.
These four service areas are:
Office administration
Estates (management and maintenance of grounds/green assets)
Facilities (management and maintenance of buildings/built assets)
Hospitality (Luxfords Restaurant/catering/Civic Centre events)

Pay Policy Statement 2025-26
The Town Council has produced a Pay Policy Statement for 2025-26 in accordance with Section 38–43 of the Localism Act 2011 and sets out Uckfield Town Council’s policies relating to the pay and
remuneration of its workforce (particularly senior officers and lower paid employees) for
the financial year 2025/26.
The purpose of this statement is to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of
public funds and to enable taxpayers to understand the Council’s approach to
remuneration.
